Kendra, I'm so sorry to hear that you've encountered so much insensitivity and abelism on the internet. Why has the pandemic made this worse? I'm especially confused about why it would make them question whether you're "that disabled?" I don't get the connection.
The pandemic has made everything for disabled people more difficult because we need to be much more careful and we have accommodation needs. So if I don’t go to events because I’m still social distancing or if I need a special exception to have a caregiver go to appointments with me when they normally wouldn’t allow that with the pandemic, people tend to behave like my precautions or accommodation needs aren’t actually necessary. They don’t think I’m “disabled enough” to need them.
